Electronic products must function reliably under a wide variety of conditions. Temperature-related pressure fluctuations can cause a vacuum to build up inside. Cyclical heating and cooling stresses the seals and can lead to leaks. To reduce this risk, pressure compensation elements are used for ventilation, which enable pressure compensation while simultaneously protecting against oil, water and particles. The specific properties of pressure compensation elements and the special features of leak testing of products with pressure compensation elements are dealt with in a practical manner.
Table of contents

Temperature-related pressure changes and harmful negative gauge pressure
Leak test for risk minimisation
Function and properties of pressure compensation elements
Gurley number and air flow rate
Volume-dependent venting time (filling via pressure compensating element, membrane assembly after leak test)
Leak testing during production
(Checking the membrane for correct assembly, leak test with filling via membrane)
Selection criteria for membranes
Practical notes

Target group
This online seminar is aimed at users who manufacture products with pressure compensation elements and/or carry out leak testing of products with pressure compensation elements in practice and are interested in in-depth information and practical tips.
