The traditional Motek/Bondexpo trade fair duo has started: 409 exhibitors from the production automation sector will meet in Stuttgart from 8 to 11 October 2024 to showcase pioneering innovations. Innovation will be driven by the key areas of efficiency, competitiveness and sustainability. The autumn highlight will be flanked by an attractive, top-class supporting programme.

The top priority for manufacturing companies is to make themselves fit for the future. Many challenges are forcing companies to produce even more efficiently and economically. At the same time, current challenges are forcing many companies to scrutinise their expenditure and costs. This is why 409 suppliers from 19 countries will be showcasing new systems and pioneering solutions in the field of production automation at Motek/Bondexpo in Halls 3, 5 and 7 until 4 p.m. on Friday, 11 October 2024.

Bettina Schall, Managing Director of trade fair organiser P. E. Schall, sent a positive signal to exhibitors, visitors and the trade public at the start of the trade fair: ‘Motek/Bondexpo 2024 will provide ground-breaking impetus in many areas. Suppliers and vendors will come together on this platform in the best possible way to find customised and practical solutions in a constructive working atmosphere.’

The range of topics at Motek/Bondexpo includes defined focal points: networked, smart production components and systems; assembly assistance systems and workstation systems; solutions for easy implementation and commissioning; object recognition and image processing for inline parts detection. This traditional trade fair offers everyone who wants to automate a process or function suitable systems for future-proof processes. The demand for even greater efficiency, cost-effectiveness and conservation of resources, coupled with the continuing shortage of skilled labour, is driving automation forward. And Motek/Bondexpo wants to show that getting started with automation has never been easier.

From components to systems

Over the decades of its existence, the trade fair has progressed from the component level to the overall process. This development was also reflected in the technical presentation by Björn Riechers, Managing Director of Rose + Krieger from Minden, at the opening press conference. Profiles, modules and linear components can now be expanded into customisable systems and optimise processes on assembly lines and workstations. At the same time, worker guidance and quality assurance have been integrated and the workload of employees has been significantly reduced. Workstation systems and equipment for manual assembly are central Motek topics; trade fair visitors will experience software-supported and image processing-supported processes as well as software for efficient assembly planning and the automated creation of assembly instructions.

The topic of artificial intelligence (AI) is also well represented at Motek/Bondexpo. The extensive and high-calibre supporting programme of the lecture forum will cover topics such as AI in production, machine learning, AI-based gripping and AI-based robotics. Presentations such as ‘Sustainability as an economic success factor’, ‘Digital instructions’ and ‘Flexible feeding systems’ will also inspire the specialist audience. The supporting programme provides further information and offers an additional opportunity for personal exchange between practical experts.

‘The Motek/Bondexpo trade fair duo is the right place for the industry to experience the complete value chain in industrial manufacturing,’ said Project Manager Rainer Bachert. ‘This is the ideal business platform because it supports all those involved in the modern and sustainable design of manufacturing processes – in a very pragmatic and practice-orientated way.’
